SonexAus – Ron Olsons AeroVee Tail Dragger Ron Olson’s Sonex heads for the airfield15 January 2011: Ron Olson, of Beaumaris, (Melbourne) loaded up his project and headed for Benalla, Vic for final assembly. Ron has an AeroVee powered tail dragger, in a lovely shade of ‘au naturale’ un-polished aluminium. Builder Ian Mitchell from Benalla will assist Ron with doing his canopy and final assembly. Ron was assisted by a local, Simon Carkeek who intends to commence his own Sonex project shortly and another sympathetic neighbour. Ron’s project was unique in that most of it was built INSIDE his house. Work table filled the lounge, and for a while the main spars were stored down the passage and right across the kitchen floor. Ron lived in the chook house for five years. Welcome home Ron!!
